The legislature stipulated in the driver regulations of January 30, 2008 that your drivers must have complete, gap-less records of the past 28 calendar days (e.g. also for Saturdays and Sundays) with them.

This also includes a computer-generated confirmation according to section 20 of the vehicle driver regulation. It is necessary for days on which your drivers did not drive any vehicle, as per EU-directive 561/2006. Any other forms, e.g. handwritten confirmations, yellow tachograph discs, etc. are no longer valid and will be punished in traffic checks.

The confirmation must be signed by both the employer (or their deputy) and the driver and must be carried at all times.

Upon expiry of the 28 calendar days, these confirmations must be archived according to the current compulsory archiving requirements of one year (including digital tachograph data and tachograph discs).
